This is a reminder of our bi-annual Congregation Meeting and elections on Sunday, May 19, 2022, at 1 PM in the sanctuary. Printed ballots for voting will be available in the synagogue. At this Congregational meeting, there will be an election for members to the Board of Trustees.

About the event
Dear Temple Sholom of Ontario Congregants:
This is a reminder of our bi-annual Congregation Meeting and elections on Sunday, May 19, 2022, at 1 PM in the sanctuary. Printed ballots for voting will be available in the synagogue.
At this Congregational meeting, there will be an election for members to the Board of Trustees. There are 3 current members whose terms expire this year.
Paraphrased portions of the By Laws of Temple Sholom of Ontario:
• There shall be a meeting held in May for the purpose of holding elections for Trustees of the corporation. Terms of office shall commence on June 1st of each year.
• A nominating committee shall be appointed by the President. At least one member of this committee shall be a member of the Board of Trustees and they shall place in nomination a slate of candidates to be presented at the meeting.
• Prior to the Congregational meeting, the general membership shall have the right to submit names of nominees to the Nominating Committee for their consideration. Please contact the President, Secretary, or Treasurer by mail or email with your potential nominees.
• At any election meeting, nominations may be made from the floor. Nominations shall be made for each specific vacancy to be filled.
• Votes for candidates may be cast only by members in good standing and present at the election meeting. Good standing is defined as having paid outstanding dues and assessments, or having made special arrangements with the Treasurer.
• All elections shall be by closed ballot and the candidate receiving a majority of votes shall be declared elected.
The qualifications for serving on the Board of Trustees shall include the following:
A. Member in good standing.
B. Member for at least three consecutive years.
Zoom will be available for those who cannot attend in person. A Zoom link will be sent out prior to the meeting. However, voting is not permitted on Zoom.
